Alan H.
Private tutor in Gahanna, OH
Education
Graduated from UMASS/Boston with a degree in Spanish and a GPA of 3.70.
Experience
Have taught in the classroom and tutored Spanish since 1997. I have been a classroom Spanish teacher in Columbus City Schools and now have a substitute license. Regardless of what level Spanish you are taking, I am sure I can help. I worked at McGraw-Hill in several editorial positions ranging from associate editor to group managing editor for 13 years. I was also recommended by my English professor and later approved by the department chair to tutor English composition students at UMASS/Boston (tutoring is by invitation only). I have over 2,000 hours of personal English tutoring, including many English as second language students. I have also tutored American History students and my college minor was American Studies (US literature, history and culture). Whatever the subject, I am qualified and experienced in it. I have also lived abroad, including three years in Argentina.

Hobbies
I enjoy doing (and even more so, completing) the Sunday NYT Crossword, hockey (although after nine years in Ohio, I'm still not a fully-converted Blue Jackets' fan), soccer and traveling to Argentina as often as possible (I've been there eight times in the past 12 years).
